For teens, seeing a gynecologist (GYN) for the first time can be an uncomfortable and scary experience, however pre-teen and teen gynecologic care is extremely important. The needs of teens and young women are unique and different from those of older women. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist (ACOG) recommend that teens establish a gynecologist between the ages of 13 and 15, to develop a personal and trusting relationship with their physician.
At Advanced Women's Care, we understand and respect the needs of teens and their parents. Dr. Allessa Allison and Jenny Allen, CNM have created a special program focusing on teen care that creates a safe a welcoming environment to discuss health questions and concerns.
